Train to Chicago
Photos and notes from a 2 day train trip to Chicago.
Last week, my wife and I went to Chicago. We took Amtrak's Capitol Limited. It took 18 hours, but very nice. We spent a day there. We absolutely loved the city. The train back was a bit annoying due to the delays caused by power outage.
- + Busy city. But not as crowded as New York.
- + Ladies do know how to dress nicely here!
- + Nice windy weather
- + Train through WV is simply superb
- - 9 hours from DC to Pittsburgh? That is a bit slow, though the scenery is fantastic.
- + Great Lakes. Indeed.
- - A non-stop non-sense teenage British girl who kept arguing about anything and everything for 9 hours in the return train; with an American guy.
- + Magnificent Mile is probably the closest a US street can get to Champs Elysees
