Techies and management

I think techies can make good managers too. Initial thoughts on this.

There is an school of thought that profess project managers in IT cannot be technical folks, but rather professional project managers - can’t find the URL now. In plain English, it means, if you are a techie, you don’t know how to manage yourselves and other techies. You are better managed by MBAs who don’t understand technology. I need to write more about this later, but the questions I’ve are:

  1. If you are good at something, how can people assume that you are going to be bad at other things?
  2. If this above assumption were true, how come Indian software companies are such a successful lot. Most of these are managed at all levels by technocrats.

I think people with good analytical skills can make good managers in industries that *need* analytical skills.

WE ARE TAKING THEM OVER SIMPLY BECAUSE WE CAN CHANGE OUR STORES IN ANYWAY AND STILL BE #1. WE PROVIDE EVERYTHING YOU NEED.
