Mozilla Firebird 0.6

Everyone should know about this by now. Still, this release is very slick.

Well, this is as close as possible to a perfect browser, before end of this month.

For Linux users, excellent instructions on building Firebird/Mozilla with XFT support is a must-read.

Lazy Linux users (like me, these days) can get binaries from the author of the instructions. Or, wait till the great Texstar builds and releases his RPMs.

What did I like most? Well, that has to be the spinner on the tabbed pane :-)

  1. Just installed this on Windows. Seems to be faster than Mozilla. What I am missing is the sidebar, where I had my blogroll.

  2. The only improvement I could think of is Midas support- used for WYSIWYG HTML editing (on Zope of course :) )

    But that is coming...

  4. Nobody seems to be saying anything much about Midas support except us!

I'm going to keep my eye on nightly builds for now.

  5. I'm missing Midas too. I'm going to check if there's a bugzilla entry for that.
