Phil Windley, CIO of Utah, submitted his resignation today. His resignation letter is a really good read. For almost 7-8 months, I’ve been a regular reader of Mr. Windley’s blog and really admire him for his opinions and vision.
Many of the roadblocks Mr. Windley mentioned in his letter can be seen every where in the public sector - and possibly even in non-profit sector. I guess it has to do with the power that comes when you are given someone else’s money and can do pretty much anything you want without constant supervision of the donor.
It is no longer economics or general good that matters the most. But politics and the who gets credit for what someone else did rule.
Hmmm... I-Resign.com has all the info you need if you want to quit! Here’s an absolutely hilarious and to-the-point resignation letter!
