Ariel Partners is a technology partnership firm. I went to their site to read the article mentioned in the previous post. Small company, but excellent thought process and excellent documents on their site. Their pages on their methods includes Forces, Best Practices, Principles etc. This is a company that clearly knows how to envision solutions to problems.
I don’t have any experience with them, but their ideas are simple, focused and consistent. Wish all IT shops were like that. I think part of the problems comes when you expand. When you are growing, most employees want to make the growth happen. When you are grown, lot of other employees want to join just because you are grown - they don’t really want to make it grow more, but to enhance their careers. In short these people end up making a lot of self-advertisement moves that soon start violating a company’s principles and you end up having a stagnant company that just moves on due to inertia or worse, just breaks up.
