One year in Rashtrapati Bhavan

On July 25, 2002, A P J Abdul Kalam took over as the 11th President of India. Rediff slideshow on the past year.

One of the kids asked the President the secret of his success and Kalam had no qualms in spelling it out: “S..W..E..A..T.”

A great man indeed; still practicing simple living, high thoughts.

In one aspect, India's democracy has been a terrific success. In 55 years, we have had a lady Prime Minister, several lady state chief ministers (well, I'm not implying all of them were good), Presidents and chief ministers from quite a few different communities and castes.

What we need is term limits for all democratically elected positions.

Indeed, our Motherland India has a very highly respected & capable President & Prime Minister at the helm of our political & state affairs. It gives us a tremendous sense of pride & joy to have been born into such a great nation of wise, learned, brave & patriotic men & women, whom we should all look up to & whom each & every Indian should try to emulate or even go one step further in their own way.
May our nation once again become a beacon to the entire world, spiritually, socially and all other walks of life. May our country once again reach the heights of glory, as she had done many a time in its wonderful history. May each & every Indian on this planet work hand in hand to reach that objective.

i am kiranmayi,IIT-DELHI.i am writing this letter to you,regarding the dhananjay chatterjee case.i had heard and read of you in such high terms that i am sure justice will be done in this case.you, who are so sympathetic to a pea-cock,can only be doubly so in the case of a defenceless girl.the family of d.chatterjee are threatening to commit suicide.this is nothing but emotional black-mail.i am sure you would not condone any such action if ur kin were in the place of d.chatterjee.his family are only making a sin by supporting their son.i request u not to think that this has happened several days ago,hence the girl's family might not feel the pain any longer but,if this person is hanged,it might act as a deterrent towards other such crimes.u might indirectly be saving several other girls' lives.
the hopes and aspirations of the family of the little girl who was was subjected to the gruesome murder are forever buried.and the way,the murder was done also emphasizes that the person who did it is only sub-human.i dont know if u have read in the newspapers,but recently in andhra pradesh,a girl was killed brutally by a person(he stabbed her nine times)only becoz she had dared to complain to the police that he was constantly harassing her(to love him)many no.of such cases are occurring everyday in india.if there has to be a stop,at least a deterrent then a firm step has to be taken..and by you..since you are in a position to do so...and fortunately you got an opportunity to do so.i earnestly request you to take the right decision.

Our daughter is passing through the same phase as Akhil because our daughter Aditi Saxena, who appeared XII CBSE Exams from D.A.V. Centenary Public School, Jaipur has got compartment in Physics (All Indian Senior School Certificate Examination 2004, Roll No. 1210618)though she has been a good scholar throughout. Her aggregate percentage is 65%, even in Xth CBSE board exams she achieved 85% in Science and Mathematics.
Your excellency, we are in too much trouble because my daughter is in deep depression since result is declared on 23.05.2004 and she has been selected in Rajasthan Pre Engineering Test for Engineering and Architecture-2004 with General Female Rank - 1527.
But there is a rider "Candidates who get supplementary (Compartment) in Main Examination 2004 will not be eligible for admission in the year 2004 even if they have appeared and passed in the Supplementary Examination before the last date of admission"
Your excellency, now we have a ray of hope after going through the news, at least highest authority of the country is concerned about future of the children. My daughter is well confident that if copy of physics is rechecked by a team of real teachers in the presence of her parents (My husband is B.Tech, M. Tech. from Kanpur ), she can't fail at all.
Looking to the said facts kindly direct concerned authorities to recheck the copy of physics, it is further requested to send us action taken report, on the address given below:

I dont think one man can do anything possible for grate India. Because if our prsident want to do even thou he will not able to do that. I dont know wether you have seen recent photograph published in gujarat samachar regarding chemical water comes out from Isanpur's gutter line. We can see the colour of water in the photograph it is red and anybody will say there are some chemicals in the water even thou some of gujrat polution control board officers have given their report that it is not harmfull to the people. The work of polution control board is not to do analysis for wether it is harmfull or not harmfull but to find out the chemical contain in that water. I dont know were our India will go. I don't think there is a chemical in that water, but i will say there is blood of many people who will die because of this type of polution. Our President will do any thing for this, if yes the upto what extent? This is very dangerous militant (corruption) who will not shoot only people but even our politicians but slowly slowly in the form of cancer or any other disability. I dont think any politician will die becase god is not there who will give dicision to die politician first. So our Indian Public is now loosing trust in god, prsident, ministers, police,editors and everybody. Can our Prsident do stop this things in india? I dont belive thats why I am living out of india, my motherland. I love my motherland tooooooooooo much. I can't be a prime minister of india with 2/3 mejority which will make me enable to do prograssive work, so that I have left my India.

Teh:Nihal singh wala In DiTT:moga state punjab.Sir,My parents suffered lot of problems for completing my B.sc with subjects Phsics ,Math ,Computer science.I had also given tutions to juniors for earning money.But now for my further studies of M.sc ,i had tried at universities of Chandigarh,Patiala,amritsar and at Jalandhar.But the fees of all these are very high.So,i can't afford them.But the punjabi university Patiala has low charges so ,i can afford it.But even there i can't got addmission because i have 70% marks. i am get discouraged when i saw that the girls who have only 50% marks got addmission there because either they have money or sifarsh or they belongs to sc/bc castes.Then my child soul think that wheather it's a paap to becoming a brahmin's dauther .If so,it's not in my hands because god gave me birth at brahmin's house.So, sir please if you asked the vc of Punjabi university Patiala to give me a seat in one of the following courses :

I am a 12th class studend with up board.i had been attain 12th exam in 2004.in that exam my all papers were going well .but by any cause i got too poor marks in physics 1 and chemistry1 exam.so i m fail in 12 class. but after that i hve passed combind pri medical test(cpmt).
so by this cause i can not take admission in cpmt.
therefore i requst to give your personal attaintion and order to utter pradesh board to recheck my copies.

I had been selected for my M.Sc (Agri.) in Agricultural Meteorology by the ICAR-Entaance Exam-2001 with ICAR-JRF scholarship. I am pursuing my study at B.A. College of Agriculture, Anand Agricultural University, Anand-388 110 (Gujarat) by the ICAR allortment.Till to the date i had not receieved my scholarship amount(2nd yr.). I am very poor in financial standard. I took admission due ti that i'm allorted the JRF by the ICAR. But sir i could not able to know why this delay of payment ? My friends from other Agril. University they all receieved , but in this university , what kind of problem is persisting ? I have also given reminder more than 10 times to all the autorities of ICAR as well Anand Agricultural Uniersity, Anand. No body is going to consider this thing so i thought Your excellency, nowihave a ray of hope after going through the news, at least highest authority of the country is concerned. if you kindly consider this then i will grateful to you

hello sir,
i hope that these words of mine reaches the ears of Dr.Abdul Kalam. sir i am sathyanaryanan doing prefinal B.E. sandwich mechanical in P.S.G. college of technology. sir we often say we want a developed india. according to me this is possible only if a young minds have the attitude.

if u go to a 5th standard guy and ask him what do u want to become he would say that i want to become a doctor, engineer and one in thousand may say IAS or so. but no one says i want to become a POLITICIAN. so only we lack good politicians. i am not blaming that present politicians are bad but they r not efficient as young minds. which company prospers better, a company with young minds or with senior citizens?

so I WANT TO BECOME A POLITICIAN. i want to serve the country. its the best profession i have ever seen. i am inspired by it. can abdul kalam help me to win the elections when i stand at the age of 25 which is the least to join lok sabha. i want to prepare from now. what should i do to prepare myself as a politician? my party will constitute only of unemployed youth who wants to improve the country. so that unemployment will also be reduced though to a meagre amount. but its all feasible only if abdul kalam is at the back of me. please sir help me. its the cry of an indian in the wilderness for the upliftment of his motherland when all r going towards westernisation.
