A little state moves on

I come from a beautiful little state in south India, called Kerala. It literally means land of coconuts. It is a thin stripe of lush green land bordered by mountains on one side and Arabian Sea on the other. National Geographic Traveller chose Kerala and one of the ten most desired tourist locations.

For all its beauty, governance by alternating communist and socialist coalitions had ruined the economy. May be because there are young faces in the government now, I’m hearing good positive news coming from Kerala these days.

• Official Government Site. Pretty good.
• Infosys to setup campus in Kerala. A great software company - I worked there for 3 years - goes to a great place.
• IT firms plan investment in Kerala.
• Recent investment drive fetched Rs.20000 Crore.
• Planned expressway throughout the length of the state.

All this is making me wanting to go to Kerala. I’m going on vacation next month - can’t wait to get there.
