Annecy is only 40km from Geneva. Here are some pictures which I took on my visits there. There are buses from Annecy every hour to Geneva and so it is very easy to travel between these two cities. A word of caution. Even if you enjoy European railways (I really do), better don't opt for a train ride between Geneva and Annecy. Trains take long time and are not frequent. Trains to Annecy do not come to the central station in Geneva.
The central station is called Cornavin. You have to take tram within Geneva, to go to the small railway station on the outskirts of the city(Geneve-Eaux-Vives). From there, you get trains to La Roche-sur-Forone, from where you probably will've to change to another train. Compared to this, travelling by bus is far more easier. You can get buses from Gare Routiere, which is 5-7 minutes walk from Gare Cornavin. Take Rue des Alpes right in front of the railway station and walk straight down. The bus station (Gare Routiere) is on your right after three junctions. You can get buses from here to Annecy-Annemasse, Chambery, Barcelona, Turin and many other cities.
To go to Jungfrau, I went to Grindenvald first. From there, took this mountain train which scales Swiss Alps slowly, through the snow covered peaks, to reach Jungfrau - the young virgin. A journey to remember.
