Indian Recipes - Chicken Tikka
Chicken Tikka
Boneless chicken pieces marinated in yogurt and spices, cooked in an oven.
Ingredients
- Lime/lemon Juice - 2 tbsp
- Yogurt - 1 cup
- Chilli powder - 2 tsp
- Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Ginger paste - 2 tsp
- Garlic paste - 2 tsp
- Butter - 1-2 tbsp
- Boneless Chicken - 1 lb
- Salt - to taste
Method
- Clean and cut the chicken into 1 inch cubes. Rub lemon juice and salt and set aside for a few minutes.
- Mix ingredients 1-7 into a smooth marinade. Add the chicken and let it marinate in the refrigerator for about 4 hours.
- Thread the chicken on skewers alternating with wedges of onion.
- Cook the chicken in a pre-heated oven for about 6-8 minutes. Baste it with butter and cook for another 10 minutes or untill the chicken is done.
- Serve hot with sliced onion.
Notes
- A little food color may be added to give it that nice red look.
- Pieces of capscium could also be added to the skewers.
